CONNECT

Hunter Presbyterian greatly values community. We have many events where people can enjoy being together and meeting new people. We invite visitors to join us for the regular events below and for the special events that you can find on our Calendar of Events or in The Horn (our church newsletter).

Coffee Hour

Coffee hour takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays in the time period between the end of church school and the beginning of worship at 11 a.m.

  • It is a time of fellowship for members and visitors.
  • A time to catch up with friends young and old.
  • A time to make new friends.
  • A time to share our joys and concerns.

Stay after 9:30 Sunday School or come early to the 11:00 Service!

Unity Garden

Unity Garden is a place where neighbors and church members are coming together and creating an eco-spiritual area to garden and eventually use a labyrinth and walk in a native pollinating landscape area.

Choir

Come sing with the Hunter Presbyterian Church Choir! We rehearse in the choir room from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. We sing at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service each week from September through May. The Hunter Choir has singers with many different levels of experience and our rehearsals have a fun, lighthearted atmosphere. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t sung since high school, or are still in high school, you are welcome to be a part of our worship services at Hunter by singing praises to God with the choir.Come worship with us and bring your voice!

2014 concert_series

Concert Series

Our Choir Scholars and some of their equally talented friends donate their talents in presenting a fundraising concert each year.  They offer a wide variety of selections from the operatic, art song, musical theater, and popular repertoires, creating an elegant occasion.   Church officers crown the evening with wonderful refreshments after the performance.  Ticket prices are low, and benefits to all concerned are high.  Watch this space and the calendar for the date of the next concert.

Stitch & Listen

Stitch & Listen meets once a month to make comfort pillows for Hospice Palliative Care. We meet on the third Thursday of the month at 10 a.m.  We always share lunch together following our work.

Lunch Bunch

The third Tuesday of most months anyone available meets for lunch at local restaurants.  We call ourselves the “Lunch Bunch.”  We meet at 11:30 a.m. at our designated eatery to avoid the noon rush.

Lenten Suppers

The Outreach Committee coordinates a series of suppers on Wednesday evenings during Lent, providing fellowship opportunities for the congregation. These suppers also provide information about social service issues. Most of the food is prepared by Hunter organizations such as the choir, women’s circles, the Outreach Committee, ESL, and the Congregational Life Committee.

Love Letters

“Love letters” are a ministry to the homebound. On holidays and birthdays and in illness, the church signs and sends love letters to members who cannot come to church.

Home Visitation

When church members and friends are homebound, they can expect flowers or cookies and a wonderful visit from the minister, Carol Hulse, Rue Wallace, and other church members.

50-Year Member Celebration

Every fall we honor our members who have belonged to Hunter 50 or more years. Currently, we have 13 persons that are in this joyous category.
